Physics

Physics covers topics in mechanics, electricity, magnetism, waves, and optics, with an introduction to modern physics like quantum mechanics and relativity. It is a core subject and forms the basis for further studies in science and engineering. The curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the natural world and how it works.

Mechanics

This includes motion (linear, projectile, circular), forces (Newton's laws), work, energy, power, momentum, and impulse.

Waves and Optics

This section focuses on wave properties, reflection, refraction, lenses, mirrors, and the wave nature of light

Modern Physics

While introduced at the high school level, this includes concepts like quantum mechanics, relativity, and nuclear physics.

Electricity and Magnetism

This covers electrostatics, electric circuits, magnetic fields, and electromagnetism.

Heat

This covers concepts like temperature, heat transfer, and the laws of thermodynamics.

Example of topics covered in Grade 12 :

  • Newton's laws of motion.

  • Vertical projectile motion.

  • Momentum and impulse.

  • Work, energy, and power.

  • Doppler effect.

  • Electrostatics.

  • Electric circuits.

  • Electrodynamics.

   2 Sciences !?

Biology (now known as Life Sciences) and

Physics (a component of Physical Sciences) are distinct subjects.

BIOLOGY emphasizes the study of living organisms,

their structures, functions, and interactions.

PHYSICS focuses on the fundamental laws governing the physical world,

including matter, energy, and motion
